Shema Object

Growing up, I was a big soccer fan. I had almost 12 jerseys but my favorite one was Zinedine Zidane’s. I had a lot of soccer cleats and I was on a soccer team from the time I was seven till the age of ten. I remember crying when Zidane got ejected in the world cup finals in 2006, everyone in my house wanted France to lose since they had colonized our country but I was for them because I looked up to Zidane so much. No one understood why I cried so much and they kept telling me that I was French so it shouldn’t affect me as much. The year after, Zidane had retired and I had moved on to basketball. I had given away all of my jerseys and gotten some basketball ones. I figured being a basketball player would pay more than becoming a soccer player. I was pretty good at it too so I wasn’t giving up on it like I did with soccer. I had won a tournament in my city and they gave me the game ball since I did so well. One day when we were getting ready to move to Canada, my mom, my siblings and I were packing. Everyone had 2 luggage and everyone’s was full but mine. I hadn’t put my basketball and equipment in it when my mom filled it with the rest of her things.  She’s not a big sports fan so she told me that there wasn’t a need for me to take my basketball things because Hockey is all they play. I was really upset, I cried but I was determined to take my basketball things with me.  My chance came when my mom left the house a couple hours to go say goodbye to her work friends. As soon as she left, I took out her things from my luggage and I put in my things. I gave her things to the maid to sell or wear if it fit her. I knew I was as good as dead when she would find out but ii was sure she’d get over it.  7,974 miles and a 20 hour plane ride, we got to our new place, and my mom started unpacking. Her face when she realized what I had done was priceless, she was so mad she couldn’t even speak. When she calmed down, she grounded me for 2 weeks but I didn’t stop hearing about it for almost 2 years. At least I had my basketball stuff with me which took me a long way considering I now live in the U.S because of it.
